Information about Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education

The function of SACRE is to support the effective provision of Religious Education and Collective Worship in schools, and to enrich the experience of Religious Education and Collective Worship for all pupils.

 

The membership of SACRE comprises of representatives appointed by the Local Authority from four groups:-

 

Committee 'A' – Religious and religious denominations in the area (other than the Church of England) – up to ten members;

 

Committee 'B' – Church of England – up to four members;

 

Committee 'C' – Teachers representing unions in Lincolnshire – up to four members; and

 

Committee 'D' – Lincolnshire County Council representatives – up to four members

 

Meetings are usually held three times a year, and are held at County Offices, Newland, Lincoln LN1 1YL at times to be confirmed.  The meetings are generally open to the public, unless otherwise specified.
