An apology for absence was received from Councillor B Young.

No declarations of Councillors' interests were received at this stage of the proceedings.

RESOLVED

That the minutes of the Appointments Committee held on 28 November 2017 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

In accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the following agenda item has not been circulated to the press and public on the grounds that it is considered to contain exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended.  The press and public may be excluded from the meeting for the consideration of this item of business.

RESOLVED

That, in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that if they were present there could be disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended.

Consideration was given to an exempt report from Debbie Barnes, Executive Director for Children's Services with responsibility for People Management concerning recruitment to the post of Chief Executive.

A report from Penna (Recruit Consultants) was tabled at the meeting as an exempt Appendix A to the exempt report.  The Appendix provided information relating to the outcome of the technical assessments of the candidates made by the external assessors based on psychometric tests and technical interviews undertaken by the candidates.

 RESOLVED

That the shortlist of candidates to be invited for final interviews for the post of Chief Executive shall comprise of the three named recommended candidates as detailed in the exempt Appendix.
