The Committee received a report in connection with an amendment and objection to a proposed Traffic Regulation Order to introduce waiting restrictions at Allwood Road, Watery Lane and Honeyholes Lane, Dunholme, to address parking issues in the vicinity of Dunholme St Chads Church of England Primary School.

 

The report detailed the request to amend the Order, the objection to the Order and the comments of the officers.

 

Councillor Mrs S Rawlins, the local Member, stated that she fully supported the request from residents for the Order adding that traffic problems near the school had existed for some time and that the situation had been aggravated by road works on the A46 leading to more traffic coming through the village.

 

On a motion by Councillor I G Fleetwood, seconded by Councillor P A Skinner, it was –

 

RESOLVED (13 votes for, 0 votes against and 1 abstention (note – Councillor H Spratt arrived in the meeting during discussion of this item and therefore abstained from voting)

 

That the minor amendment proposed in Watery Lane as detailed in the report be approved, and that the objection to the proposal be overruled so that the Order, as advertised, be introduced.

The Committee received a report in connection with an objection to the introduction of waiting restrictions which would facilitate access for the local bus service to purpose built bus facilities in Broxholme Gardens, Lincoln.

 

The report detailed the parking problems for the local bus service, the objections received and the comments of officers on the objections.

 

On a motion by Councillor I G Fleetwood, seconded by Councillor R Renshaw, it was –

 

RESOLVED (unanimous)

 

That the objection is overruled and the Order as advertised be introduced.

Since the publication of the report a statement had been received from the applicant in support of his application. The statement had been circulated to members before the meeting and placed on the Council's website for public viewing.
