Information about Audit Committee

The Audit Committee comprises of seven councillors, who represent the political balance of the Council, plus two independent persons who are not a councillor, or an officer of the Council.

The Audit Committee role in respect of the work of the Council is to:

·

To be a key component of the Council's corporate governance.  Provide independent and high-level focus on the audit, assurance and reporting arrangements that underpin good governance and financial standards; and

·

To provide independent assurance to Councillors of the adequacy of the risk management framework and the internal control environment.  Provide an independent review of the Council's governance, risk management and control frameworks and oversee the financial reporting and annual governance processes.  Oversee internal and external audit, helping to ensure that efficient and effective assurance arrangements are in place.

The meetings are usually held throughout the year, on a Monday, at 10.00 a.m., in Committee Room One, County Offices, Newland, Lincoln, LN1 1YL (unless otherwise stated).  The meetings are generally open to the public, unless otherwise specified.
