Whisby Nature Park, near Lincoln, consists of 160 acres (65 hectares) of lakes and woodland created by the working of sand and gravel.  Although substantially manmade, the site is now of great importance to birds, animals and plants whose habitat have been reduced in the surrounding countryside.
